Its about time we get some new gorgeousness and laughs up on this blog! Emily Ayers and Mike Kuhlmann truly need no introduction. The images here speak for themselves. If you saw their crack up of an engagement session, then you probably haven’t been able to forget this sweet (and funny) couple. Finding out that their wedding reception at Preservation Park was created in the feel of a huge block party, complete with bistro lights and outdoor tables surrounding a fountain, with a focus on yellow and gray homemade pinwheels, created such an excitement in us as we were waiting for the day to arrive. Naturally, with Emily’s camp background, there was a children’s area set up for all of the lucky kids attending, complete with face paint (which the adults got into..you’ll see later) and camp counselors. In lieu of cake, Emily and Mike chose to have a pie bar stocked with all kinds of yummy pies and every guest was took home a jar of grandma’s homemade jam. This celebration was just a good, down home, bundle of good-feeling fun. With all of the celebrations and excitement, what stood out the most to Damion and I though, were the words that were said during the toasts. In our business, we naturally get to hear a lot of toasts to the couples. Most are funny, telling embarrassing and crazy stories and filled with memories. The toasts to Emily & Mike were funny too, but what really stood out about each of them was that every person talked about what great people Mike and Emily are on the inside. They spoke of the their fun and crazy adventurous spirits, their kind hands that had reached out to others, and their generosity to those in need. We were truly touched. Mike & Emily’s parents should both be proud of having a hand in creating such awesome people! They are cool. Without further ado..what you really came here for….the pictures. I went completely overboard with the portraits, but how could I not? You just have to see them all to get the picture of the day. Enjoy! I dare you to look at all of these without smiling. You can’t.
PS: And don’t forget to look for your new cover models Mike & Emily on the cover of the new magazine, Wine Country Weddings…due out early 2012!
Keep having fun!
Julie
