Castillo di Amorosa with Sasha Souza Events | Damion Hamilton |Details & Decor Photographer

Nothing could be more fitting for wine country than a beautiful wine-inspired event at Castillo di Amorosa! It was our serious pleasure to capture the exquisite details of this gorgeous purple and gold themed social event at one of our favorite places in the valley! As if the castle isn’t awe-inspiring enough on it’s own (see our review at the end of this blog post), Sasha Souza Events took it over the top with breath taking design for dining, lounging, and enjoying a “wine-centric” evening! According to Sasha Souza, “guests were shuttled to the venue where they noshed on hors d’oeuvres while overlooking the upper Napa Valley while listening to a live quartet.  Before guests were seated in the courtyard, they toured the venue to learn more about how the winery creates the wines they would be tasting later.  Once they entered into the courtyard, the experience began with opulently decorated tables in plum linens and accented with gold and fucshia.  Guests dined on four courses paired with wines from the winery and the guests were educated on the exact viticulture of wines they were drinking.”  See more details on Sasha’s blog.   Ah-maz-ing work Sasha! I love the feathers!

If you are traveling to Napa, we HIGHLY recommend a tour of this Castillo di Amorosa, a replica of a European castle that has been fifteen years in the making, with authentic details down to the blacksmiths brought in to make every individual nail and metal piece to the roof tiles created by hand and shaped over the tile-maker’s thigh.  Outside the heavy wooden doors (some weighing as much as 1200 lbs each), there are holes above where some unlucky individuals from the opposing forces would have boiling oil or acid poured on them if they somehow made it past the moat and to the doors and on the tour, you also get to view the medieval torture room & knights armory.  You may have already seen this castle, as it has been the filming grounds for numerous productions including the movie Bedtime Stories and an episode of The Bachelor.
