Being a part of the Wish Upon a Wedding team for Christian & Rehanna’s wedding in San Francisco last week was a great experience. Wish Upon a Wedding is an organization which helps orchestrate and donate weddings to couples who are facing a terminal illness, but would like to get married. As you know, planning a wedding when you are healthy and feeling well is NOT easy and is extremely costly in energy, time, and resources, but when you are facing an illness, how much more difficult it is!! That is where WUW steps in–to provide what might not otherwise be possible!
Christian and Rehanna are the lovely couple chosen for WUW‘s 2nd ever wedding wish! Christian is facing end stage renal failure and is set for a kidney transplant early next week (Remember to keep them in your prayers and thoughts!), BUT all of that faded in the light of their glorious day! To see them smile and love and share these precious moments with their friends and family was truly a treasure that we will certainly never forget! The beautiful ceremony took place at 1 Fort Mason, overlooking the San Francisco Bay and the day came off without a hitch! The flowers and cake were exquisite, the food delicious, the bride–beautiful, and a good time was had by all.
To Christian & Rehanna, may this be JUST the very beginning of a beautiful life for you two to share–may you enjoy every single day that you have together to love and cherish each other, as we can see that you already do! Thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of this day for you…it was an honor.
Also a big THANK YOU goes out to all who helped plan this event from Liz Guthrie, who conceived this organization, to the President Sasha Souza (who were both there working hard folding the linens I might add!) to the servers that came and volunteered their time….This would not have been possible without you all. To see a group of professionals who all really wanted to give something of themselves and provide for another in need was a beautiful thing. I think what I loved the most was that every single vendor truly wanted to be there and so many gave so generously, from the gorgeous flowers to the magnificent cake to all of the bridal attire…wow. Something about it just grabs your heart. Please find a list of all participating vendors at the bottom of this post…your work is truly appreciated….
